DuPont's local employees pass a significant milestone-and are recognized by the Washington County Commission.

On November 19th, the Washington Works plant passed five years without a lost time injury.

That applies to employees of the plant, its partners and contractors.

The commission Thursday approved a resolution honoring the plant for reaching the five-year goal, which translates to 2200 man hours.

"Recognition of this milestone really brings to light how important safety is to DuPont," said Environmental Health and Safety Manager Brian Birge, "and just the emphasis on how we want employees to leave work just the same way they arrived at work."

Officials say 27% of the workforce of the plant lives in Ohio, and most of the Ohio employees are from Washington County.
