The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley hosts its Kitten Adoptathon at We Lov Pets in Marietta.
The cats are spayed, neutered, and have all their shots, but they are in need of a home. The shelter has over 30 cats and is trying to clear out.
Volunteers say, cat maintenance is pretty easy compared to a dog.
"Cats are pretty easy, it's really just food, water, liter boxes, a good bed, a warm place to stay; preferably inside particularly if they've been declawed and toys and love," said Melinda Hartz, volunteer.
The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley currently has a Valentine adoption special through Sunday for $14 for cats and $111 for dogs. The typical price is $40 for cats and $165 for dogs.
To adopt a pet, you can fill out an application online or visit the shelter at 90 Mt Tom Rd, Marietta, OH 45750.
